4. How and Why We Disclose Information
Shoreline’s business involves helping merchants obtain services offered by third parties. Accordingly, information submitted to Shoreline may need to be disclosed to appropriate third parties to evaluate, underwrite, establish, provide, or support requested services.
Depending on the circumstances, we may disclose relevant information to:
- merchant-service providers;
- payment processors;
- independent sales organizations and other payment-industry partners;
- acquiring banks and sponsor banks;
- ACH providers and related financial institutions;
- payment gateways and payment-technology providers;
- underwriting and risk providers;

- a buyer, investor, successor, lender, or other appropriate party in connection with an actual or proposed merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction, subject to applicable requirements.
We do not necessarily provide every category of information to every recipient. Information is disclosed as reasonably appropriate to the relevant application, provider evaluation, requested service, compliance requirement, or legitimate business purpose.
Third-party payment providers and financial institutions may independently collect, use, retain, and disclose information pursuant to their own agreements, privacy notices, regulatory obligations, and legal requirements.
5. Merchant Applications and Provider Sharing
Submitting information to Shoreline does not guarantee approval for merchant services and does not establish a merchant account.
Shoreline may review application information to identify one or more providers that may be appropriate for the merchant’s business, industry, processing requirements, and risk profile.
Relevant information may then be disclosed to an appropriate provider and its service providers for evaluation, underwriting, identity verification, compliance, onboarding, or account establishment.
An applicable provider may require additional information, documentation, verification, applications, signatures, or agreements.
Final approval and provider-specific terms are determined by the applicable provider and/or financial institution.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our websites may use cookies and similar technologies for functionality, security, performance, analytics, and other disclosed purposes.
The specific technologies used may change over time.
Where required by applicable law, we will provide appropriate choices concerning technologies used for targeted advertising, cross-context behavioral advertising, sale or sharing of personal information, or other activities requiring consent or an opportunity to opt out.
Sensitive information submitted through a merchant application is not intended for disclosure to advertising platforms or unrelated analytics providers.
7. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising
Certain privacy laws use specialized definitions of terms such as “sell,” “sale,” “share,” and “targeted advertising” that may extend beyond an ordinary exchange of information for money.
Shoreline will provide disclosures, consent mechanisms, or opt-out rights required by applicable law based upon its actual practices.
Disclosure of merchant information to appropriate payment-industry providers for evaluation, underwriting, onboarding, compliance, servicing, or fulfillment of a merchant’s request is distinct from selling a merchant application as an unrelated marketing lead.
We do not make a blanket representation in this Privacy Policy regarding statutory “sale” or “sharing” where the legal characterization may depend upon particular technology or practices.
8. Information Security
Shoreline maintains administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, acquisition, disclosure, alteration, loss, destruction, or misuse.
We seek to limit access to sensitive merchant information to authorized personnel and service providers who require access for legitimate business purposes.
The nature of safeguards may vary based upon the sensitivity of the information, applicable legal and contractual requirements, available technology, and associated risks.
No method of electronic transmission, storage, or security is completely secure. Accordingly, although we take measures designed to protect information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Shoreline does not represent that it holds a particular security certification unless that certification has been separately verified and expressly identified by Shoreline.
9. Data Retention and Disposal
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and to satisfy legitimate business, fraud-prevention, security, contractual, legal, regulatory, dispute-resolution, and recordkeeping requirements.
Retention periods may vary depending upon:
- the nature and sensitivity of the information;
- whether an application was incomplete, declined, approved, or abandoned;
- the merchant or referral relationship;
- provider requirements;
- contractual obligations;
- fraud and risk considerations;
- applicable statutes of limitation; and
- legal or regulatory requirements.
When information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete, destroy, anonymize, de-identify, or otherwise dispose of it consistent with applicable requirements.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending upon where you reside, the nature of your relationship with Shoreline, and whether applicable law covers the particular information or processing activity, you may have rights concerning your personal information.
Applicable rights may include the ability to request:
- confirmation regarding whether certain personal information is processed;
- access to certain personal information;
- correction of inaccurate information;
- deletion of certain information;
- a portable copy of certain information; or
- an opportunity to opt out of certain processing activities.
Not every right applies to every person, record, or circumstance.
Certain information may be exempt from particular privacy-law requirements because of financial-services, business-to-business, fraud-prevention, security, legal, regulatory, contractual, or other exceptions.
To make a privacy request, email info@shorelinepay.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.”
We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity, authority, business relationship, or request before taking action.
Authorized agents may be required to provide appropriate proof of authority.
We may deny, limit, or retain information where permitted or required by applicable law and will provide an explanation where legally required.
Shoreline will not unlawfully discriminate against an individual for exercising applicable privacy rights.
11. Security Incidents
If Shoreline discovers unauthorized access to or acquisition of information, we will investigate the incident and take measures we determine appropriate under the circumstances.
Where notification is required by applicable law, Shoreline will provide required notices to affected individuals, governmental authorities, or other appropriate parties.
12. Third-Party Websites and Services
Our websites may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, applications, providers, or services.

We will provide additional notice of material changes when required by applicable law.
